Rates vary according to the item to be indexed. The fee will depend on the type of book, the density of the text and the specifications of the index or indexes desired.  Book indexes can be quoted by the page, the entry, or by the hour.  

Per page rates are the most common method and range from $3.00 to $6.00 per page.  If the book's pagination changes during the indexing process, the fee will be adjusted for the time needed to make corrections.
